USPS Postmark Change
The U.S. Postal Service is implementing postmark changes effective December 24, 2025.
Under the new rule, a postmark will reflect the date an envelope is processed by an automated USPS sorting machine rather than when dropped off in a mailbox or at a post office counter. This new process will reflect a 1-2 delay for postmarks.
Critical for deadlines, it is recommended to go to a USPS counter and request a manual postmark.
